Abstract
LEP measurements of the Z 0 parameters have been used to estimate the value of QED coupling constant at the Z 0 mass. The estimated value α eff -1 (MZ )=128.2±0.9-0.4 +0.0 (M top) is in good agreement with the expectation of 128.0 -0.4 +0.2 from the Standard Model.
