Abstract

3,6-Disubstituted-2,7-dihydro-1,4,5-thiadiazepine derivatives (L) with zinc(II) and cadmium(II) halides form complexes of the general formula, [MX2L]nH2O, (X---Cl or I, N = 0, 1, 1) which are non-electrolytes. The far IR and PMR spectra of these complexes indicate their tetrahedral structures with a boat conformation for thiadiazepine ring which coordinates to the metal ions through sulphur and one of the two nitrogen atoms. The thermal studies on these complexes are also reported.
