Abstract
We have studied the reaction kinetics for systems in which the dynamics of the particles is governed by a Langevin equation. We have obtained an expression for the survival probability in the presence of randomly distributed stationary traps. We show that the transient behaviour of the survival probability is very sensitive to the initial velocity distribution of the particles. The asymptotic decay follows the well-known diffusion-limited case.
