Abstract

The numerical simulation based on finite element modelling pertinent to static and transient analysis of elastic solids utilizing grid adaptation technique is presented. The grid adaptation is based on the equidistribution principle associated with the boundary value problem in differential equations. The error measure is evaluated as a weight function based on the convex combination with approximate weighting of variations in the solution variables. The redistribution of points is accomplished utilizing adaptive distribution mesh applying algebraic and elliptic methods. Computational examples are presented to demonstrate the success of the adaptive method.
