Abstract
In this paper, the feasibility of identifying the stiffness constants of a unidirectional single layer composite is first illustrated using dispersion curve analysis.Second, the lay-up identification in layered composites, is examined based on the dispersion curve behavior of fluid-loaded laminates. The acoustic data domains considered are the leaky (fluidloaded) plate wave dispersion curves based on the total transmission criteria. Only crossply symmetric laminates composed of equal thickness layers of one specific material, are considered. A sensitivity analysis on the influence of two different types of ply orderings-staggered and inverted - is also presented. The inverse problem is stated in the form of a multi-parameter minimization function and Genetic Algorithm was used in searching for the solution.
