Abstract
Rainfall seasonality over India is studied using an individual seasonality index. The spatial distribution of the individual seasonality index and the mean individual seasonality index over two periods, that is, early (1901–1970) and recent (1971–2015), is analysed. Trend analysis using linear regression during these two periods shows a declining trend in seasonality index (i.e. decreasing values of the index), which impends shorter dry periods resulting in more consistent rainfall throughout the year in some parts of India during the recent period (1971–2015).
