Abstract

We discuss the extension of the augmented space formalism to study systems of fermions in contact with a heat bath to incorporate non-Markovian evolution of the bath variables. The formalism uses the ideas of the memory function approach. We give a simple example to show how the non-Markovian nature of the bath effects the spectral response of the electron system.
