Abstract

CsF–Celite catalyzes the ring opening of epoxide with thiols under mild reaction condition and affords the corresponding β-hydroxysulfides in excellent yield. The ring opening is regioselective with nucleophilic incorporation at the less hindered carbon atom of epoxide.
