Abstract
Tosylhtdrazones of aldehydes at the α-position of cyclic ethers when exposed to carbon nucleophiles produce either ring opened alkylated olefinic alcohols and/or cyclic alkylated vinyl ethers, the ratio of which is dependent on nature of hydrazone and nucleophile used.
