Abstract
Complexes of tri-, di- and mono-organosilicon(IV) chlorides with the Schiff base N,N'- ethylenebis (salicylideneimine) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic (IR,1Ή , 13C and 29Si NMR) studies. Molecular weight determination in chloroform reveals the monomeric nature of these complexes. These data support the binding of oxygen to silicon(lV) with an octahedral geometry.
