Abstract

The transport and magnetic properties of Ln0.7A0.3Mn1–yTM3+yO3 (TM: transition metal) manganites are known to be strongly dependent upon changes in the strength of the double exchange (DE) interaction. This can also be altered by the substitution of the Mn ions by other transition-metal ions. The figure shows the temperature dependence of the refined magnetic moment value for the compositions containing Ni.
