Abstract

myo-Inositol derivative as a host assembles around crystallographic 2-fold axis selectively accommodating dihalomethanes as guests having a C2 symmetry; formation of highly stable host–guest complexes is attributed to halogen⋯oxygen and C–H⋯O interactions.
