Abstract
Self-assembly of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-pyridyl)porphyrin with two equivalents of cis-[(dppf)Pt(OTf)2] (dppf=1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene; OTf=CF3SO3−) yielded the first open molecular box containing six porphyrin walls (see scheme) and an internal open void volume of around 43 550 Å3.
