Abstract
Several 5-Cyano-6-substituted-2-thiouracils (1a–e) and their monocyclic (2,3,4,6) and bicyclic (5) derivatives have been prepared and evaluated for in vivo leishmanicidal activity against L. donovani in hamster. Thiouracils and its derivatives are synthesized as potent leishmanicides.
