Abstract
In this paper, a new boost-SEPIC interleaved type dc-dc converter is proposed for a low-voltage bipolar dc microgrid application. The proposed converter is a parallel combination of boost and SEPIC converter with two outputs. It is well-suited for low-voltage-high-current applications in a bipolar dc microgrid environment. The interleaving effect of source inductors ensures low ripple current drawn from PV source. Due to low ripple current from the PV source, the MPPT efficiency is increased. Detailed steady-state analysis and dynamic modeling of the proposed converter are presented. Simulation results are presented to validate the performance of the converter. Open-loop experimental results are presented to validate the working of the proposed converter.
