Abstract
The copious and simultaneous production of K∗0(890) and K∗± (890) in the final states p-p→K0SK± π ± (6453 events) has been used to evlauate the electromagnetic mass splitting between the neutral and charged modes of the K∗(890). The new measurement is in good agreement with previous determinations and inconsistent with recent implications for hadron spectroscopy based on the standard gauge model. A brief discussion of this discrepancy is presented.
