Abstract
Quasi-resonant (QR) full-wave converters are known to offer inherent load insensitivity. This feature can be used to optimize the design of QR converters or reduce EMI. Step-by-step details of this optimization and relevant results of the analysis are presented. Zero-current-switched (ZCS) and zero-voltage-switched (ZVS) converters have been simulated using PSPICE and the EMI performance is investigated. The results show a significant reduction in EMI when optimized resonant tank components are used.
