Abstract
In crystalline 4-cyano-4'-ethynylbiphenyl and 4-ethynyl-4'-nitrobiphenyl, molecules are connected with the hitherto unreported Câ-·C-H···Nâ-·C and Câ-.C-H···O2N supramolecular synthons to form linear arrays.
