Abstract

Hyperfine fields have been measured at various nuclear sites in a number of materials of the REMn2X2 type in their ferromagnetic state LaMn2Si2 seems to have nearly ideal crystallographic order. In NdMn2Ge2, the hyperfine field at the Nd nucleus is significantly less than expected and this is attributed to crystal field effects on the nd3+ ion.
