Abstract
This paper deal with dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) based voltage regulator for voltage control of constant speed prime mover driven self exited induction generator (SEIG) connected with three phase resistive and reactive load. The controller is modeled using IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Junction Transistor) based voltage controlled voltage source converter (VCVSC) with self supported DC bus. The DVR inject a voltage in series with system voltage. The 7.5kW, 415V, 50Hz SEIG based generating system with DVR is modeled and simulated in MATLAB along with Simulink and power system block set (PSB) toolbox. The system are analyze for varying resistive load 4.5kW to 7.5 kW and reactive load of 7.5kW, 0.8pf lagging. The results are obtained with simulation which shows ability of DVR to control the load voltage of isolated asynchronous generator (SEIG) supplying power to three phase resistive and reactive load.
