Abstract
This study deals with the two stage solar photovoltaic (SPV) system employing resonant based control algorithm. This system not only feeds the power to the distribution network, moreover it also includes the features of load balancing, harmonics reduction and power factor correction. In first stage of the SPV system, a DC-DC boost converter is used. The duty ratio of the DC-DC boost converter is adjusted in such away so that system could track the maximum power. The maximum power is extracted from the SPV generator by utilizing an INC based MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) control algorithm. In second stage, resonant control technique is utilized to estimate the fundamental active and reactive power components of the load currents. These are utilized to extract the peak value of reference grid currents. Simulation results are demonstrated to validate the control of SPV system.
