Abstract
This paper presents a solar grid integrated power generating system using a three level voltage source converter (VSC) operating at low switching frequency with double synchronous rotating frame phase locked loop (DSRF-PLL) based control algorithm. An incremental conductance algorithm is used to track maximum power from solar PV (Photovoltaic) array which is fed to the grid. The use of three level VSC offers the advantage of low switching losses and operation at high voltages and powers. It also results in lower total harmonic distortion (THD) of grid currents. Simulated results validate the design and control algorithm under steady state and dynamic conditions.
