Abstract

This paper presents a steady state analysis of self-excited induction generator (SEIG) operating with an electronic load controller (ELC) for regulating its voltage and frequency under varying load condition. The ELC consists of a rectifier and a chopper circuit whose operation generates harmonics on AC side of the SEIG system. To achieve an adequate performance characteristics of the SEIG with ELC information of harmonic contents and real power is necessary. In this paper a complete description of the AC current harmonics generated in the ELC operation and their effects on the performance of SEIG is presented in detail.
