Abstract
This paper presents a polygon connected autotransformer based 15-phase AC-DC converter for power quality improvement in vector controlled induction motor drives (VCIMD's). The proposed multi-phase AC-DC converter is based on a polygon connected autotransformer, designed for producing 15-phase voltages for effective harmonic reduction. The effect of load variation on drive is also studied to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed AC-DC converter. A set of power quality indices on input AC mains and on DC bus is also presented.
