Abstract
This paper presents an approach to control the power flow and regulate the DC voltage at the DC link of voltage source converter (VSC) based high voltage DC (HVDC) transmission system. Two identical converters used at both rectifier and inverter ends. The switching of the converter is carried out at fundamental frequency switching. The power flow between the two stations is controlled by controlling the phase shift between the two AC voltages, and harmonic mitigation is done using 12-pulse configuration. Simulation results are presented the validate the control of the HVDC system.
