Abstract
[NiL2X2] and [NiL2Br2] •2H2O complexes (L = N, N'-dimethyl 1,2-ethanediamine and XCl−, SCN−, CF3COO− and CCl3COO−) have been synthesised and their TG-DTA/DSC studies have been carried out. Thermally induced-phase transition phenomena of [NiL2X2] (X = SCN−, CF3COO− and CCl3COO−) are noticed and their probable mechanisms explored. Solid state synthesis of [NiLCl2] and [NiL2Cl2] is achieved through pyrolysis of [NiL2Cl2] and [NiL2 (OOCCCl3)2] respectively.
