Abstract

Diels−Alder reactions of enantiomerically enriched 2H-azirine 3-phosphonates and dienes stereoselectively furnish optically pure, bicyclic aziridine adducts that on hydrogenation afford the first examples of enantiopure quaternary piperidine phosphonates.
