Abstract

Chelonus narayani Subba Rao is an egg-larval parasite of Heliothis armigera (Fabr.). The parasite has been liberated in U.S.A. and Hawaii for the control of Lepidopterous pests. A method for the mass-rearing of the parasite under laboratory conditions is described. A study of the morphology of immature stages has been made and the tracheal system is described in detail. The physiology of respiration and function of the anal vesicle is discussed.
