Abstract
The action of various aromatic amines on cyclopentanone-2-carboxylate and 4-methylcyclopentanone-2-carboxylate has been studied, and it has been observed that it is possible to prepare the arylamides and aryliminoamides. The former can be cyclised to carbostyril derivatives.
