Abstract

The genus Comperiella was erected by Howard in 1906 to receive C. bifasciata collected by George Compere in China. The species of Comperiella are all primary parasites of diaspine scales. So far only four valid species are known from the world; the fifth Comperiella cerapterocera (Mercet) was found to be a synonym of C. bifasciata by Mercet himself. Tachikawa (1964) has reviewed the species of Comperiella occurring in Japan and has also provided a host parasite index and distribution of species of Comperiella in the world.
