Abstract

This paper considers the static and free vibration analysis of rotating practical radial fan impellers by both finite element method and experiment. Due to the rotational periodicity of the impeller, only one repeating substructure is considered for the complete analysis. Resulting equations of equilibrium are solved by submatrices-elimination method. Results are also obtained by NASTRAN and ASKA packages. The calculated values are found to be in good agreement with the experimental ones.
