Abstract

Authors make a model to study the effects of operating velocity, size of steel balls, and weight of the charge on processes in industrial ball mills. The model consists of an Al shell with quartz transducers, pressure rosettes to sense axial and circumferential strains, and a spectrum analyzer. Dynamic pressures and strains are tabulated for three rpm values. Power spectral density of input pressure decreases over 20 Hz.
