Abstract

A passive device was introduced in a turbulent boundary layer to destroy its large scale structure. Investigation revealed a marked increase in Clauser shape factor and decrease in skin friction. Relaxation characteristics as the boundary layer returns to equilibrium are discussed in the paper.
