Abstract

The compound CePd2Ga crystallizing in the orthorhombic YPd2Si-type structure orders antiferromagnetically at 3.2 K. Dilution of the Ce sublattice by Y substitution results in distinct features attributable to the Kondo effect in the electrical resistivity. The results characterize the compound CePd2Ga as an antiferromagnetic Kondo lattice.
