Abstract

The influence of Ca in place of Sr and Eu in place of La on the superconducting and normal state behaviour of La1.8Sr0.2CuO4 has been investigated. Both the substituents tend to depress the superconducting transition temperature, whereas the degree of semiconducting (localization)-like behaviour in resistance for the air-annealed specimens in the normal state are widely different. The data are discussed in terms of possible size and charge mismatch effects.
