Abstract

Chronological studies on a fossil dune at Budha Pushkar in Thar desert suggest that the existing hypothesis of a wetter Middle Palaeolithic period in the region is not tenable. The present study suggests a revision of the stratigraphic framework of this regionally correctable sequence in the Thar desert and questions the earlier archaeological inferences.
