Abstract
An accurate expression is derived for the minimum order of, a finite-zero Butterworth filter (Dutta Roy 1971) which has a steeper cut-off slope than the' corresponding Chebyshev filter (Agarwal et al. 1972). The inaccuracy occurring in the latter is illustrated by a numerical example.
