Abstract

The elastic photoproduction of neutral pion from deuterium has been studied under the impulse approximation using the Chew-Low amplitude for the photoproduction of π6 from nucleons. The differential cross-sections have been obtained at various photon energies (1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 in units of pion mass and they are in good agreement with the available experimental values. Studies of the final spin state of the deuteron have also been made.
