Abstract

Tunneling of hydrogen trapped in Nb(OH)x is modeled as a two-state system coupled to a conduction-electron bath. Quantum relaxation theory is used to calculate the structure factor for neutron scattering from the tunneling hydrogen. Narrowing of the quasi-elastic peak is shown to follow a power law.
