Abstract
An easy alternative proof is provided for the upper bound relation (∂ 2E/∂ λ 2)åΨ|Ψ« ≤ åΨ |∂ 2H/∂ λ 2|Ψ«. Like an earlier proof by Silverman and van Leuen the present approach presupposes the validity of the Hellmann-Feynman (H---F) theorem.
