Abstract

The hexatin(II) cage containing siloxane ligands is obtained by the addition of Sn[N(SiMe3)2]2 to a suspension of RSi(OH)3 in a hexane/THF mixture. The X-ray crystal structure analysis of compound 1 reveals a central {(SnO)6} motif enclosed by two outer {R2Si2O3} siloxane ligands.
