Abstract

A balloon-borne scintillation telescope was flown on March 31, 1968, from Hyderabad, India, to measure the isotropic component of the cosmic X rays. The spectrum of the primary diffuse X rays in the 20-130 kev interval is found to be 140 E-2.4 ± 0.4 photons cm-2 sec-1 ster-1 kev-1. The results of other observers are compared with those obtained in this experiment.
