Abstract

The nonlinear instability for two streaming superposed fluids in the presence of a normal electric field is investigated taking into account the spatial as well as temporal effects in the neighbourhood of the critical point (kc, Ec). Stability criteria are derived from the non-linear Klein-Gordon equations obtaining the bell shaped soliton and the kink solutions. It is demonstrated that the streaming difference decreases the critical electric field at which the instability sets in.
