Abstract

Big bang. Many believe it is the last word in cosmic sciences. Self-confessed agnostic Jayant Vishnu Narlikar reviews the weaknesses of the model to suggest that scientists might just be fooling themselves with the "Emperor's New Clothes". He challenges many holy cows of cosmology here.
