Abstract

A framework is proposed for using the generalized Kharitonov (GK) theorem due to B.R. Barmish (IEEE Trans. Autom. Control, vol.34, no.2, p.157-65, Feb. 1989) for the robustly stable design of the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) and power system stabilizer (PSS) of a power system. The GK theorem is used for robust design after the combined synthesis of the AVR and PSS has been carried out.
