Abstract

A broad spectral band Indian astronomy satellite, tentatively named as Astrosat, covering a wide X-ray spectral region of 0.3-100 keV, ultraviolet band from 1300--3000 Å as well as optical band is under development for launch in 2007. This mission is aimed at multiwavelength studies of variety of black hole and other X-ray sources for measuring their timing and spectral characteristics.
