Abstract

A Monte Carlo renormalization group study of the deconfinement transition in SU (2) gauge theory is carried out using the demon microcanonical method to calculate renormalization group trajectories. Earlier data on the temperature of the transition obtained by asymmetric lattice methods and finite size scaling are analyzed to obtain the theory's beta function.
