Abstract
Incorporating a simple fuzzy gain scheduling algorithm in the PI controller considerably improves performance. This has been demonstrated by using a fuzzy PI controller with simple rules to control an exothermic continuous stirred reactor (CSTR) exhibiting multiplicity of steady states.
