Abstract

Phallaxonchium parvulum n. sp. which closely resembles the type species P. altenuatum Jairajpuri & Dhanachand, 1979 is described from Manipur, India. It has a smaller body, differently shaped lip region, smaller odontostyle and odontophore, longer oesophagus, smaller anterior uterine sac, prerectum and spicules, and smaller and slightly differently shaped tail of the first stage juveniles. The male of Axonchium (Axonchium) nitidum Jairajpuri, 1964 is reported for the first time.
