The genus Clarkus jairajpuri, 1970 is subdivided into Clarkus (sensu stricto) represented by the type species, C. papillatus having a non-denticulate ventral ridge in the buccal cavity opposite dorsal tooth, and Coomansus n. gen. represented by C. parvus which is devoid of such a ridge. Two new species, viz., Clarkus elongatus and Coomansus indicus are described from India.
